The School of Ministry exists to train biblical leaders who are equipped to lead both inside and outside the walls of the Church. This program is for leaders desiring to strengthen their ministry muscle as well as those who feel called to pursue full-time ministry. It is convenient enough to commit to one night a week, a 2-hour class with childcare included, but also challenging enough to stretch any believer’s Biblical knowledge and leadership.

Requirements

• Be a committed follower of Christ
• Be a member of Compel Church
• Desire to grow
• Currently lead a Connect Group and/or serve on the Dream Team
• Meet academic requirements: Be a graduate of an accredited four-year high school or equivalent homeschool, having earned a standard diploma certifying readiness for a two- or four-year college experience

  • What is the School of Ministry?

    This program is for leaders desiring to strengthen their ministry muscle as well as those who feel called to pursue full-time ministry. It is convenient enough to commit one night a week, 2-hour class with childcare included, but also challenging enough to stretch any believer’s Biblical knowledge and leadership.

  • How much time does the program require?

    The program is designed to be a 2-year program broken into 16-week semesters.
    Each semester students attend a 2-hour class, 1 night a week: 1 hour of lecture + 1 hour of ministry training lab.
    Weekly student commitment = 2 hours on campus (instructor-led) and 4+ off campus (individual work)

  • What does the program feature?

    • Receive in-person teaching from Pastor Patrick along with Compel Church team
    • Take courses including Leadership, Christian Doctrine, New Testament, Old Testament, Pastoral Care and Counseling
    • Practical Hands-On ministry training
    • Attend in-person classes for 2 hours on Tuesday evenings

  • Who is the School of Ministry for?

    Compel’s School of Ministry is for leaders that want to strengthen their ministry muscle, as well as those that feel called to pursue full-time ministry.

  • Is this program only for people who want to be on staff at a church?

    No. School of Ministry exists to train biblical leaders equipped to lead both inside and outside the walls of the Church. (Connect Group Leaders, Coaches, Principles, Doctors, Small Business Owners, Teachers, as well as the next Youth Pastor, Worship Director, Lay Leaders, and Deacons)

  • Does the Academy program still exist at Compel Church?

    What once was Academy has been integrated into the curriculum of the School of Ministry. We have loved Academy, but there is so much more to Biblical Leadership we want to share to equip leaders for a life of ministry.

  • What degree or recognition will I receive from this program?

    The School of Ministry offers certificates of ministry leadership credentialed within Compel Church.
